Chapter Two

He stands there, just looking at her. Not sure what to do or say. It seemed like a million years has past since he heard or said anything, but actually it was only seconds. She finally spoke.

"Eric are you all right?" She had a concerned look on her face.

"Um..I am not sure" he replied. And he was not. He was not sure what to feel. The last time he saw his sister was when the barbarians attacked his village. But that was year ago, even thought he never forgot his sister, he still had little or no hope of ever seeing her again. And to himself he thought that the chances of her ending up at Kips Place were so small, that it nearly did not exist. Eric started back toward the bar, by now the people in the bar lost interest about what he was doing and went back to talking and drinking among them self. Eric got to the bar and just looked at her. In his mind, he could not believe it was actually his sister. He shook his head in amazement.

"You all right Eric?" She asked again.

Eric nodded and just look at her, finally able to speak he said. "Leeanna, how, who, what?" He was obviously confused. He knew that she disappeared, but how and by whom he had no clue.

She did not try to move toward him, she stayed there, leaning on the bar. He looks at him and then looked away, as if he could not meet his eyes. She spoke softly.

"I know you must of many question for me. And I am willing to answer them. Just so long as you promise me one thing."

"Anything Leeanna."

"Promise me we will never lose each other again, I could not bare the thought of losing you again. I know I was to young to really understand who you where. But as I got older I thought about you all the time. So promise me Eric."

He just stood there, not sure of how to take this. He finally took one of her hands, she at first pulled away, but then stopped. He took her hand and held it.

"I promise, when I left home, the only thing I could think of was you. But I was to young and nieve. But now I know. I have some stuff to tell you. But I want to hear what happened to you. Follow me." He starts to head to the back of the room, to an out of the way table, she followed him and they sat down at the table.

Eric's mind was racing; he did not know what to think. Here, in front of him was his long lost sister. 18 Years ago, he fled his house and left here there. Now, 18 years later, here she sits in front of him. He could not believe it. Could this actually be true? He kept thinking if this could actually be happening. His life has been hard and full of despair and the thought of this not being real hurt him. But there she sat in front of him.

"Eric, tell me what happened to our parents." She ask, her face had a sad look on it, like she all ready know the answer.

He sighed and spoke softly. "They where killed. Farther was beaten and then his throat cut, mother. Well mother I do not think you should know. But they are both dead." He could not look at her. He felt bad, why he was not sure.

"Tell me Eric, tell me what happened to mother. I need to know." She looked at him like she really did want to know, but he really did not want to tell her, but he could not tell her a lie.

"Mother was raped, many times, Then beaten like father, and left for dead. But farther did try to safe her, but he was out numbered, he had no chance." He sighs heavily; he hated talking about that. Ever time he did he felt like diving. He could not bare the thought of it. Ever time he thought about it, the picture of his farther and mother was so vivid it made him wince. He looks at Leeanna and saw tears dripping down her face. He felt worse. But what could he do. She ask him and she had to know. No matter what.

He looked at the clock that hung above the bar and looked at Leeanna. "You look tired. Why don?t you go to sleep and we will talk more tomorrow." He said to her.

She only nodded and got up. After a moment he also got up and moved toward that stairs. Leeanna was walking behind him. He got a room that he rented and opened the door. She walked in and started to lie on the floor. Eric did not know what to do, but to imagine what she has been through.

"Leeanna, you can have the bed. You are free from you past now. You no longer have to sleep on hard floors. I know it will be hard. But you will learn in time" She looks at him and got and moved to the bed, she laid down and she falls asleep. Eric move to the back corner of the room and leaned on the wall and watched his sister sleep.
